Family Worship Night
Oct 5th
Guest Blogger: Jeremy Pollard – Summit Kids Pastor
Hey Brier Creek Campus!
I know if you’re not a kids volunteer (which you obviously should be
), then you don’t hear from me unless I’m…..asking you to be a kids volunteer. So today is your lucky day because right now I want to make sure you guys are aware of a great resource Summit Kids works hard to provide at the beginning of each month: Family Worship Night.
This Friday we will meet at the Brier Creek Campus for a night designed just for families. The time for the service is 6:30-7:15pm, but you may want to come early for Chick Fil A at 5:45pm. We will have nuggets, chips, and drinks all for just $2.
This is a wonderful way to spend your Friday night together as a family, and be equipped for the discipleship of your child during the month of October! We will be learning about the virtue of Wisdom and having a lot of fun doing it – skits, live music, games, and a kid-friendly teaching time.
I hope to see you there, it is definitely worth your time!
Get your copy of Gospel: Recovering the Power that Made Christianity Revolutionary – October 1st!
Oct 1st
Could the gospel be lost in evangelical churches? In this book, J.D. Greear shows how moralism and legalism have often eclipsed the gospel, even in conservative churches. Gospel cuts through the superficiality of religion and reacquaints you with the revolutionary truth of God’s gracious acceptance of us in Christ. The gospel is the power of God, and the only true source of joy, freedom, radical generosity, and audacious faith. The gospel produces in us what religion never could: a heart that desires God.
The book’s core is a “gospel prayer” by which you can saturate yourself in the gospel daily. Dwelling on the gospel will release in you new depths of passion for God and take you to new heights of obedience to Him. Gospel gives you an applicable, exciting vision of how God will use you to bring His healing to the world.

Summit Worship Guitar Beginnings Seminar
Sep 30th
Guest Blogger: Mike Passaro, Cary Worship Leader
Summit Church Members:
If you’ve been around a while, you know that the Summit has a vision to plant 1,000 churches in the next 40 years. The bottom line: If we’re going to plant 1,000 churches, we’re going to need about 12,000 musicians.
SummitRDU Worship routinely hosts a four-week seminar on Beginner Guitar for Worship. Scott Swanek, a qualified guitar instructor, will be presenting this workshop to inspire and equip willing students to worship God with guitar. This seminar is designed for those who have no experience in guitar, but have the sense of rhythm, love of music, and the passion to lead others in worship. If you have tried guitar without much success in the past, Scott will cut through some of the confusion often associated with learning, plus review your guitar to improve its playability.
There is a fee of $20 for this seminar to cover materials, due at 9:00AM at the first session.
Details for our next Beginner Guitar workshop…
Date: 4 Saturday sessions: beginning October 15th
Time: 9:00 – 10:30 AM

Advance Regional with Larry Osborne // Sept 22
Sep 15th
We’re hosting a great event for pastors, planters, leaders and aspiring leaders September 22 that you won’t want to miss:
Advance Regional: Executing the Mission
One of the greatest challenges of leadership is implementing vision. Many leaders with great vision and tremendous passion run into a wall when it comes to execution. Good ideas are a dime a dozen; good execution is rare. Unfortunately, this is something rarely taught in seminary, and rarely modeled in the church. The gospel compels us with the greatest mission ever known. How can we be more faithful in executing that mission? Join us as we learn from seasoned pastor and leadership expert Larry Osborne.
Larry Osborne has served as Senior Pastor and Teaching Pastor at North Coast Church since 1980. Under his leadership, North Coast has grown from a fledgling group of 128 meeting in a rented school, to a multi-site ministry that currently reaches over 8,000 in weekend attendance. Larry is a nationally recognized trainer of pastors and church planters, and an expert on leadership and organization. His books include Sticky Church, Sticky Teams, and The Unity Factor.
(add personal anecdote) Whether you’re a pastor, planter, business person, or aspiring leader, you won’t want to miss this.
